“Fathers, Brothers, Friends”, is an original, one of a kind, art box with the theme of honoring men. Much symbolism is projected through simple, everyday items. Metal patterned buttons indicate that a man’s home is his castle. Banisters welcome him home entered into with keys. The gears symbolize work and time; the time family men sacrifice for their families as they work for their benefit.
Represented are different men from different times and ethnicities, yet all of these men are united in their endeavors and share in the brotherhood of family and home.
The Scriptural inspiration for this piece is “Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long upon the land the Lord your God is giving you”.
